It’s always important for photographers to have a style so that clients will know what to expect from them when hiring them for a project. But it’s also great for creatives to continue to learn new skills and experiment with styled on personal projects.
The style that my clients expect from me is a bright and airy style often a little more simplistic. Recently I’ve been following many talented food photographers and felt inspired to try a dark and moody style.
I found a simple set up in a video by Lauren from That’s Sage to manipulate the light using black foam core boards. I also used a speed light with a Godox soft box to create a nice soft light.
For this project I chose my favorite food – pizza! Here are the results.
